Role summary:
Reporting to the HR Director this role will lead and coach the HR Services team to develop and deliver an efficient respected customer focused service. Delivering accurate timely administration and advice services that enable line managers and the HR team to deliver business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain an ethos of exceptional service maximising HR’s contribution to the business, enabling the Team and managers to fully deliver the business strategy and values.
- Develop and motivate the team, enabling them to provide a first-class service for managers and colleagues.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and service requirements to be able to design and deliver effective, efficient, transparent processes.
- Act on feedback from the wider business - your stakeholders, peers, colleagues and reporting lines - continually improving and simplifying HR processes and procedures.
- Lead, motivate and develop your team ensuring they fulfil their potential.
- Be accountable for leading and delivering HR/business focused projects for example; restructuring, TUPE, job evaluation, company-wide employee representative scheme.
- Knowledge of Trade Unions
- Ensure all HR team processes interact seamlessly with all other departments including ER, Payroll & Benefits, L&D, Finance, Projects & Systems and Procurement Technology.
- Ensure all internal governance processes are fit for purpose, developed and adhered to.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation, implementing new or changed policies and procedures to ensure that the company meets its legislative requirements.
- Carry out any other reasonable requests which maybe required of this role.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Be able to identify best practices and efficiencies and manage change successfully
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage and organise own and team’s workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
- Be commercially balanced between functional and business requirements.
- Must be competent user of Microsoft office packages.
- Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities.
- Precise attention to detail and a strong level of accuracy.
- Previous experience of managing a team within a HR function, ideally in a Shared Services environment.
- Be CIPD qualified
- Be able to provide great Customer Service through building effective relationships across all functions.
- Ability to work on own initiative whilst at the same time being an effective team member.
- Experience of a fast paced office environment essential.
