Mark Hammond

Chairman

Mark joined DX on 15 November 2022. He has over 25 years’ commercial and financial experience across finance, investment and commerce and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland since 1991. He was co-founder and manager of a private equity fund, Caird Capital LLP, having previously worked for Bank of Scotland Corporate as Head of Integrated Finance. He was previously a Non-executive Director of Tuffnells Parcel Express Limited until its successful sale to Connect Group plc and a Non-executive Director of David Lloyd Leisure Group Limited, a leading European fitness business. Mark is currently Senior Independent Director of Genuit Group plc, the listed provider of sustainable water and climate management solutions for the built environment and a Non-executive Director of Chaffin Holdings Limited, which provides arboricultural services.

Paul Ibbetson

Chief Executive Officer

Paul Ibbetson has over 30 years' experience in the transportation industry.

He joined DX Freight in November 2017 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer on 31 January 2023. Before joining DX, he was Operations Director of Tuffnells Parcel Express and has also held senior operational and commercial roles at both Target Express and Business Post.

david mulligan

David Mulligan

Chief Financial Officer

David has over 20 years of experience in senior financial positions in a number of listed companies, and joined DX in April 2018. He was most recently CFO at Hornby plc, where he was involved in delivering the restructuring and turnaround of the business. The major part of his career was at Morgan Sindall Group plc, the construction and regeneration group, which he joined in 1997. He became CFO in 2004, a position he held until his departure in 2013. David qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young in 1995.

Mike Russell

Non-executive Director

Mike joined DX as a Non-executive Director on 12 July 2022 and is chairman of the Remuneration Committee. He has over 35 years' experience in leadership and financial roles with major companies. During his executive career, he was Chief Executive of Prize Food Group plc, the food production group, Group Finance Director of Nurdin and Peacock plc, the food wholesaler, and Finance Director of Asda Stores Limited, the supermarket subsidiary of Asda Group plc. He has significant experience of the logistics industry, having been a Non-executive Director of Clipper Group plc, the retail logistics firm, for almost 10 years. During this time, he was Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Nomination Committee.

Jon Kempster

Non-executive Director

Jon joined DX as a Non-executive Director on 12 July 2022 and is chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee. He has over 30 years' senior financial and commercial experience, including as Group Finance Director of industry-leading FTSE-listed companies across a number of sectors, including logistics, retail, and manufacturing. Most recently, he was Finance Director of Frasers Group plc, the retail group and, before that, Group Finance Director of Wincanton plc, the logistics provider. Jon is currently Non-executive Director of Ted Baker plc, the fashion retailer, Bonhill Group plc, the B2B media business, Fireangel Safety Technology plc, the home safety products group, and Serinus Energy plc, the international oil and gas company. He is also a Trustee of the Delta plc pension plan.

Paul Ibbetson

Chief Executive Officer

Paul Ibbetson has over 30 years' experience in the transportation industry.

Martin Illidge

Managing Director – DX Express

With over 30 years’ experience in the Express parcel industry, Martin started his career at Target Express in 1990 subsequently gaining extensive experience in senior management roles across the UK. Following the sale of Target Express to Rentokil Initial Plc in 2006, he spent time in regional leadership roles within City Link before joining DX in January 2011.

Martin joined the DX team as Regional Director and during his 10 years with the business spent two years in the role of Operations Director for DX Express where he was responsible for the delivery of business strategy, objectives and performance. In April 2018 Martin became the Managing Director of DX Express.

michael sherry

Michael Sherry

IT Director

Michael Sherry leads IT for the group, with overall responsibility for IT Services, Solutions Development, BI and Information Security.

His IT career spans 31 years, working in all key IT disciplines, he has worked in the Freight and Parcels sector since the age of 19.

Mike began his DX journey as Director of IT for DX Freight in 2012 before joining the Operating Board as IT Director in November 2017 with a focus on strategic development of our systems delivered through agile principles, to maintain pace in the fast moving sector.

Mike and the team are currently working on a full pipeline of product and capability enhancements, as well as innovations across all aspects of the DX Group.

Lloyd Dunn Junior

Group Sales Director

Lloyd Dunn (Jnr) has over 14 years' experience in the Freight & Parcel sector. Prior to joining DX in April 2016, Lloyd Jnr held various management positions at Tuffnells Parcels Express.

Arriving at DX as Regional Sales Director, Lloyd went on to become Commercial Director in December 2017, Sales Director for the Freight Division in September 2019, prior to his appointment as Group Sales Director in January 2022.

James Chuter

Sales Director – DX Freight

James Chuter has over 15 years’ experience in the Parcels and Freight sector. Prior to joining DX in 2015, James held various sales roles at TNT.

Joining DX as a Depot Sales Manager within DX Freight, James was promoted to Regional Sales Manager in January 2018, before his current appointment as DX Freight Sales Director in July 2022.

Tony Kells

Sales Director – DX Express

Tony has over 25 years’ experience in the parcel industry. He spent 16 years at DHL Express in senior commercial and general management roles, successfully leading a number of national and regional sales teams. Tony was also responsible for the commercial launch of DHL@Home.

Tony has also held roles as Business Development Director at City Link and Sales and Marketing Director at Inpost.

He joined DX in September 2019 as Sales Director for Express. Based at our Nuneaton hub, Tony is responsible for account management, commercial strategy and new business.

kevin galligan

Kevin Galligan

Director of Document Exchange UK and DX Ireland

Having worked in television and media for 10 years, Kevin left Windmill Lane to join DX. Since 2001 Kevin has led the team at DX Ireland and during this period there has been strong EBITDA and revenue growth. In 2018, Kevin was appointed Director of Document Exchange UK with P&L responsibility for the DX Exchange business in the UK, while continuing to lead the executive team in Ireland. His time is split between the two businesses with strong management teams in both Ireland and the UK.

Kevin has a primary degree in Marketing and an MBS in International Marketing. More recently, Kevin undertook an Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School.

Patrick Clancy

General Manager

With over 30 years’ experience in logistics and retail, Pat joined DX in April 2021 as AM Shift Manager before progressing to General Manager. Previously, Pat was part of the senior management team at the Moriarty Group and was responsible for managing several SuperValu stores. More recently, Pat was Operations Manager at Kilbride Classic Cuisine.

Philip Honer

Financial Controller

Philip joined DX in April 2008 as Financial Controller and is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants having qualified in 1991. Prior to joining DX, Philip was Financial Director with PI Pneumatics Ltd. Philip worked with PI Pneumatics for 20 years having started as an accounting technician and he was part of the Senior Management Team for over 15 years.
