Role summary
The Head of Third‑Party Courier Management is responsible for defining and embedding the DX driver contracting policy and framework, ensuring compliance with all legal, commercial, and operational requirements. This role oversees contractor engagement, performance, compliance, and drives best practice across the DX network.
Key responsibilities
Contractor Strategy & Governance
- Define, review, and own the contractor onboarding process.
- Manage the contractor pipeline to ensure availability aligned with network requirements.
- Collaborate with Legal and Procurement on contract terms, KPIs, penalties, and incentive structures.
- Develop contractor engagement initiatives including OD / MSC / Franchise models.
- Align all contracting processes with the business sustainability strategy.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Develop a standardised contractor performance review schedule, policies, and documentation.
- Centrally own reporting outputs and action planning.
- Use data to analyse supplier performance, highlight best practice, and identify improvement opportunities.
Vetting, Compliance & Induction
- Review, improve, and standardise driver vetting processes with HR.
- Explore outsourced solutions where appropriate to simplify onboarding.
- Develop training and induction programmes ensuring supplier understanding of DX policies.
Operational & Financial Controls
- Review and centralise payment processes, removing localised depot payment ownership.
- Manage strategic relationships with major subcontractors across divisions and depots.
- Lead regular performance reviews ensuring service consistency across operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge constructively.

- Background in multi‑drop delivery and collections (ideal).
- Experience working with self‑employed supplier bases.
- Working knowledge of route planning and routing software.
- Minimum of 2 years management experience.

- Clear communicator with colleagues and suppliers.
- Experience managing budgets and cost controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Role summary:
The Network Planning Director is responsible for defining and developing the future network strategy for DX. This role will challenge current operating models, identify opportunities for optimisation, and shape the vision for network interoperability across all Divisions. The Director will lead the development of modelling tools, forecasting capability, and analytical insights that support best‑in‑class operational performance across depots, hubs, trunking and last‑mile delivery operations.
Key responsibilities
Network Strategy & Design
- Develop and define the future depot and hub network strategy, including optimal locations, design specifications, and capacity planning requirements.
- Shape the long term vision for network interoperability across Divisions.
Volume & Flow Modelling
- Lead the ownership of demand forecasting by Division, by day, week, and period to support collection and delivery optimisation.
- Develop volume flow models to drive optimisation of the trunking network for both tactical improvements and strategic planning.
- Use modelling outputs to influence the optimal hub strategy, including number of hubs, location, size, and operating models.
Operational Efficiency & Optimisation
- Challenge existing hub and trunking operating models, exploring options such as double deck operations, cage sort, loose load, automated centralised hub approaches, and hub and spoke alternatives.
- Provide analytical support for optimisation tools used across C&D, trunking, and under the roof activities.
- Perform time and motion studies to support operational change, efficiency enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Fleet & Resource Planning
- Analyse freight profiles to determine optimal fleet size, vehicle types, routes, and location strategies.
- Support cross divisional planning to maximise shared resources and operational integration.

Role summary
The Operational Excellence Director will lead the strategy, culture and deployment of continuous improvement across DX. This role drives operational innovation, service quality, safety, efficiency and automation to support the long‑term business strategy.
You will shape and execute programmes that optimise processes, embed Lean methodology, enhance reporting and deliver measurable improvements across the network.
Key responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the development and adoption of Lean, CI tools and best practice methodologies throughout operations.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement that drives consistency, efficiency and service performance.

Role summary:
The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing medium to large customer accounts ensuring the highest levels of customer service for Key DX customers. Proactively engaging with customers to identify possible issues or upcoming increases in volume whilst driving through additional revenue through growth.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate with customers on a proactive basis ensuring that they receive the highest levels of customer care.
- Negotiating annual price increases and driving through additional revenue through upselling and sourcing additional lines of business with current customers
- Resolving customer issues at all levels working closely with local customer service and operational teams
- Providing a flow of information between the customer and the business
- Producing weekly and monthly service reports
Additional information on this role
Previous experience in a logistics / distribution environment in a similar role is essential.
